Karin G. Simmons

Karin G. Simmons, 61, of Lakeland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at home. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. A graduate of West Genesee High School, Karin earned her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College and master’s degree from SUNY Oswego. She taught at Bishop Ludden for over ten years and was a CPA for over 30 years. Karin was on the National Dean’s List and Who’s Who Among Graduate Students from 1994-1995. She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband, Lonnie; children, Lonnie (Susan) Simmons of Pembroke, MA, Michelle (Sean) Sterling of Warners and Sandra (Douglas) Roberts of Philadelphia, PA; brother, Keith (Marlene) Gratzer of Washington, MO; three grandchildren and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, February 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
