Kathleen Clare "KC" (Quinn) Kelly

March 6, 1953 — January 9, 2021

Kathleen Clare “KC” (Quinn) Kelly, loving wife and mother, passed away on Saturday, January 9 at the age of 67. Kathleen was born on March 6, 1953 in Rochester to William and Elizabeth (Kehoe) Quinn. Kathleen received a bachelor’s degree in art history from SUNY Potsdam, where she met her husband, Michael J. Kelly. KC and Michael were married on May 26, 1978 and had three children, Conor, Nolan and Eamon Kelly.

KC will be remembered by all who knew her as a tireless worker. KC worked in the Graduate School at Syracuse University from 1993 until her retirement in 2008. She held various positions in the school and helped usher the admissions program into the digital era. At the same time, KC spent time studying for and completing a Paralegal Certificate, which she would go on to use in her “post retirement” career of elder law and estate planning, first for a private firm, McMahon Law and then as a civil servant for Onondaga County. KC finally retired from the workforce last year, having given her children and anyone who met her an example to follow in taking pride in what you do.

KC had a passion and a talent for art, was an active member in her congregation at Holy Family Church and most of all was a beloved wife, mother and friend to many. KC strived to live in the image of her favorite poem, “My Symphony,” by W.H. Channing. She was truly committed to her family, putting them first in all things and demonstrating constant, selfless, unconditional love.

KC was predeceased by her parents, William and Elizabeth Quinn; and son, Eamon.

Surviving are her husband, Michael; sons, Nolan and Conor (Kendra); grandchildren, Evelyn, Alice and Shiloh; siblings, Kevin, Mary Ann, Michael and John; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, no services are currently planned.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Family Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219.
