Kathy Lester Ayer

Kathy Lester Ayer, 64, of Camillus, passed away Saturday at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Camillus area, she was a graduate of LaFayette High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Columbia College of Missouri in 2000. Kathy was employed by National Grid for over ten years before retiring in 2023. She enjoyed going to the zoo, attending musicals at the Landmark Theater, doing puzzles, and reading on her patio. She loved her dogs, Fetch and Ginger, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Kathy was predeceased by her husband, Douglas; and parents, Philip and Joyce Lester.

Surviving are her daughter, Marie (Scott) McVeen of Central Square; son, Douglas (Heather) Ayer of Camillus; grandchildren, Ashley, Jeffrey, Olivia, Samantha, and Camden; great-grandchildren, Logan, Max, and Liam; one brother; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 19 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Kathy will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
