Laura Ellen Ross, of Marcellus, passed away peacefully at home on Friday.
Born and raised in Syracuse, Laura was a graduate of Midlakes High School. She spent many years living in Newark before returning to the Syracuse area in 2015. For more than 20 years, she worked as a payroll clerk for the Wayne County Sheriff's Department, where she was admired for her dedication and kindness.
Laura devoted her life to loving and caring for her family, who were always at the center of her heart. She was her children's biggest supporter-encouraging them in their sports, education, careers, and all of life's adventures. Her family will always remember her unmistakable presence at every game, cheering the loudest and beaming with pride.
Laura had a lifelong love of animals and shared her home with her beloved pets-Archie, Baxter, Kirby, and Boo-boo Kitty-who brought her great comfort and joy. She was also an avid jeweler, creating beautiful pieces that she lovingly shared with friends and family.
Laura's kindness, enthusiasm, and creativity touched everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
Laura was predeceased by her mother, Patricia Quinn, and her aunt Connie (Bill) Mahar.
Surviving are her sons, Anthony (Sarah) Ross of Clay and Nicholas (Jessica) Ross of Rochester; grandchildren, Luca, Carter, Quinn, and Brody; sisters, Constance (Matthew) Drake and Suzanne Alpert, both of Syracuse; and several nieces, cousins, and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Circle, Syracuse, NY 13210.
