Lawrence Horan

February 25, 1932 — July 7, 2019

Lawrence Horan, 87, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he grew up in Rome before moving to Syracuse in 1955. Lawrence was a member of the Solvay Seniors, avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed bowling, singing and playing the harmonica. He was a devoted father and husband and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Rita, in 2017 after being married for 57 years. She was the true love of his life. They loved spending time together, traveling and going to the casino.

The family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Lawrence’s caregivers, Judy, Meg and Lindsey for their compassionate care and love over the past two years.

Surviving are his daughter, Debra (Michael Wild) Chynoweth of Marietta; son, Michael (Debra) Horan of Cazenovia; and grandchildren, Emma, Ethan, Seth and Gabriel.
