LouAnne Omilanowicz

March 18, 1954 — July 14, 2025

Camillus

LouAnne Omilanowicz, 71, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Monday at Upstate University Hospital.

A lifetime resident of the Camillus area, LouAnne was a graduate of West Genesee High School in 1972 and Central Tech Nursing School in 1974. She dedicated her life to caring for others, working as a licensed practical nurse at Crouse Hospital for 39 years. She spent the last 20 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit — a role that reflected both her compassion and strength. Her devotion to her patients and colleagues left a lasting impact.

LouAnne had a true passion for helping others, both in her professional life and beyond. She brought warmth and kindness to every interaction, always putting others before herself.

Outside of work, LouAnne enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and sharing laughs with friends and family. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren. Whether gathered around the table or simply enjoying each other’s company, those moments meant the most to her.

LouAnne was predeceased by her parents, Emma and Vincent Granito Sr.

Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Stanley; daughter, Michele (Paul) Kolceski of Syracuse; sons, Stanley (Kate) Jr. of Warners and David of Camillus; beloved grandsons, Charlie, Dominic, and Declan; and brothers, Bernie (Pat) Granito and Vincent (Joyce Mahoney) Granito Jr; many in-laws, nieces and nephews; and grand-hound, Oscar.

To celebrate LouAnne’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

LouAnne will be laid to rest in Kingdom Road Cemetery, Baldwinsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Holy Family Church Food Pantry, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, NY 13219 or to the Camillus Elks Lodge, 6117 Newport Rd., Camillus, NY 13031.
