Margaret (Kelly) Meier

Margaret (Kelly) Meier, 102, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Sunday at home.

A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, Margaret was a graduate of Tully High School. She began her working career in the hospitality industry, serving as a housekeeper at several local hotels before continuing her career at Crouse Hospital, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Margaret was a devoted communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus and a longtime member of its Altar & Rosary Society. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she cherished the friendships and fellowship she shared within her church community.

Margaret found great joy in life's simple pleasures, especially tending to her garden and spending time in the kitchen. A wonderful cook, she took great pride in preparing delicious meals for family gatherings and holidays. Her homemade potato salad was a particular favorite and will be fondly remembered by those fortunate enough to having enjoyed it. Margaret's warmth, kindness, and love of bringing people together made every gathering special. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends, creating countless memories that will be cherished for generations.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Melvin Meier; daughter, Mary Meier; parents, James and Mary Kelly; sister, Helen Dollison; brother, Paul Kelly; and son-in-law, Wayne Passage.

Surviving are her daughter, Joan Passage of Camillus; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Margaret’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, November 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Margaret will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Food Pantry, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus, NY 13031.
