Martha M. "Marti" Lodes

Martha M. “Marti” Lodes, 78, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Crouse Hospital.

A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, Marti was a graduate of Phoenix High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Le Moyne College. Early in her career, she worked for Ernst & Young as a CPA and held other accounting positions before establishing herself as a self-employed accountant. For more than 35 years, Marti dedicated herself to her work, earning the respect and trust of countless clients through her integrity, diligence, and attention to detail.

Marti’s true passion was her creative spirit, which found expression through her love of crafting. Over the past 20 years, creativity became the focus of her life, bringing her great joy and fulfillment, even more so than her professional work. Marti enjoyed crafting, watching a good television show, and having a deep love for hockey—especially in her role as a devoted “hockey mom.” Above all else, her children, Jeff and Alex, were the light of her life and her greatest source of pride and joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. Marti treasured every moment spent with her family and friends, leaving behind lasting memories shaped by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering presence.

Marti was predeceased by her husband, Arthur M. Lodes Jr., in 1997.

Surviving are her sons, Jeffrey M. of Leesburg, VA, and Alexander M. of Syracuse; grandchildren, Nathan, Noah, Julian, and Coen; brother, Frank Muster of Fairport; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Marti’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home.

Marti will be laid to rest in North Syracuse Cemetery, North Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
