Mary (Ford) Scarson, 91, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Thursday at Upstate Community Hospital.

Born in Harrisville and raised in Syracuse, Mary was a graduate of East High School. She went on to work as an office clerk at GTE Sylvania, where she dedicated 36 years of service before retiring.

Mary was deeply involved in the Camillus community and was especially passionate about the sport of bowling. She served as a Camillus youth bowling coach for 50 years, mentoring generations of young bowlers. Her dedication to the sport and the community earned her induction into the Camillus Sports Hall of Fame.

An avid bowler for 65 years, Mary could often be found at Camillus Clubhouse, Solvay Lanes, and Strike N Spare. She was also an active member of the Camillus Elks.

Mary will be remembered for her commitment to her community, her love of bowling, and the countless lives she touched through her years of coaching and service.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Geraldine Ford.

Surviving are her sons, Peter (Laurie) of Camillus and Larry (Linda) of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, Tom (Kathy) Ford of Albany; sister, Patsy (Dick) O’Neil of Kirkville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

To celebrate Mary’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Camillus Elks Ladies Auxiliary, 6117 Newport Rd., Camillus, NY 13031.
