Michael D. Stray

Michael D. Stray, 68, of Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly Friday. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Corcoran High School and received his associate’s degree from OCC. Mike worked for Carrier Corp. for over 10 years and later as a registered nurse for Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse. Mike loved driving his sports cars and was an avid Giants, SU, and boxing fan. Above all, his greatest joy was telling jokes and laughing with family, friends and those around him. Mike was always smiling and enjoying a good Bud Light.

Mike was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Paul and Fred.

Surviving are his sons, Anthony of Boston, MA and Joseph of Syracuse; daughter, Marianne of Syracuse; grandsons, Owen and Jasiah; sister, Mary of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, February 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will be held Friday, February 11 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Mike will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
