Michael T. McHugh

Michael T. McHugh, 81, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at Upstate University Hospital on Thursday.

A graduate of Vocational High School, Mike went on to work as a technician for National Cash Register (NCR), where he spent more than 30 years providing expertise and service with pride and integrity.

Mike was a man of many talents. A true handyman, he had the ability to fix just about anything—and often did for neighbors, friends, and family alike. He was also a passionate ham radio operator, a hobby he enjoyed for decades, connecting with voices from around the world with curiosity and care.

Mike was a former communicant of St. Ann’s Church and held his faith close throughout his life. But above all, he loved his family.

Mike was predeceased by his son, Christopher, in 2011; and brother, James.

Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy; son, Eric (Sara) of Rochester; grandchildren, Al and Michael; sister, Theresa McHugh of Westvale; brothers, Joseph of Westvale and John (Deirdre) of Grahamsville; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Mike’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from noon to 1 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
