Mikhail K. Bezhenar

Mikhail K. Bezhenar, 79, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph's Health Hospital. Born and raised in the Ukraine, he emigrated to the US in 1993 and was employed by PPC Broadband, Inc. for over 18 years. Mikhail loved nature and creating acrylic paintings, specifically of animals and birds.  He enjoyed fishing, taking walks, and hiking.

Mikhail was predeceased by his daughter, Liliya Bezhenar; parents, Kiril and Nadezhda Bezhenar; sister, Zinaida; and brothers, Vasiliy, Ivan, and Anatoliy.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Yelena; daughter, Luba (Oleg Klishch) Bezhenar; sons, Peter and Vitaliy; grandson, David Klishch; granddaughter, Lily Klishch; siblings, Maria Bilivska, Lidiya Bytov, and Viktor Bezhenar; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23 at 1:30 p.m. in Slavic Baptist Church, 4176 Split Rock Rd., Camillus.

Mikhail will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
