Nelida (Neves) Jacob, 76, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Saturday at home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Born in Portugal, Nelida immigrated to the U.S. in 1960, settling in Syracuse before making Camillus her home for the past 51 years. Nelida found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially cooking, gardening, and crocheting. She took great pride in her home and loved preparing meals that brought her family together. Sunday dinners were especially meaningful to her, creating cherished memories filled with good food, laughter, and conversation. Above all, Nelida was devoted to her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by those she loved, especially her grandchildren. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Nelida was predeceased by her daughter, Anita Jacob; parents, Manuel and Maria Neves; and brother, Michael Neves.

Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Horacio; son, Michael (Crystal) of N. Syracuse; grandchildren, Alexandra and Camryn; sister, Delores (John) Figueiredo of Middleton, MA; brother, Arlindo (Diana) Neves of Camillus; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Nelida's life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
