Patricia Ann (McCormick) Sheridan, 94, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, passed away peacefully at Upstate University Hospital on Tuesday after a brief illness.
Patricia was born in Syracuse on January 4, 1932, to James E. and Doris M. McCormick. She lived a long and full life devoted to her family and her beloved NY Yankees.
Patricia attended St. Vincent’s High School and was a member of the cheerleading squad. After graduating in 1949, she went to work for Eagan Realty. In September of 1952 she married Frederick Sheridan of Howlett Hill and made their home there for 73 years. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount where she was a Eucharistic minister and member of R.C.I.A.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Frederick; infant daughter, Rosemary Sheridan; infant son, Frederick Sheridan; son, Michael Sheridan; parents, James and Doris M. (Nichols) McCormick; sister, Kathleen (Collins) Buczek; and brother, James D. McCormick.
Surviving are her sons, Christopher (Diane) Sheridan of Devore Heights, CA, Daniel (Sharon) Sheridan of Midlothian, TX, Timothy (Diane) Sheridan of New Port Richey, FL, Thomas (Susan) Sheridan of Fairport, NY, and Peter (Dawn) Sheridan of Golden, CO; daughters, Nancy Spencer, of Jordan, NY, and Mary Kane of Syracuse, NY; and sister, Maureen Coman of Cary, NC.
Patricia was blessed with fourteen grandchildren; Ryan (Lindy) Sheridan of Huntington Beach, CA, Kelly (Joseph) Kulm of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Patrick (Shelby) Sheridan of Fort Worth, TX, Matthew (Ashlea) Sheridan of Houston, TX, Nathan (Lori) Sheridan of Haslet, TX, Elizabeth Sheridan and Peter (Dana) Sheridan, both of New Port Richey, FL, Zachary (Helena) Sheridan of Baldwinsville, Gabrielle Spencer of Jordan, Brian Sheridan of Rochester, Alexander (Mary) Kane of Littleton, CO, Jillian Kane of Jamesville, and Delaney and Molly Sheridan of Golden, CO; as well as six great-grandchildren, Josiah Kulm, Walter and Eleanor Sheridan, Madeline Sheridan, Augustine and Clare Sheridan.
To honor Patricia’s life, a funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.
Patricia will be laid to rest and reunited with her husband in St. Francis Cemetery, Marcellus.
