Patricia (Wojtalewski) Kurasz, 61, of Syracuse, peacefully departed this world on Friday. Born and raised in Syracuse, she was a graduate of Solvay High School. Patricia was a beloved mother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Patricia had a love for life that was infectious to all those around her. She found joy in the little things, such as playing board games, particularly Yahtzee, where she never failed to add a touch of friendly competition by introducing wagers. Her strategic thinking and ability to bring people together made her the life of many gatherings. Patricia also enjoyed testing her luck at Bingo and cherished her trips to the casino, where the thrill of the games added a spark to her free-spirited nature. Alongside her love for games, she found entertainment in solving puzzles. Yet, her greatest joy came from her beloved cats who brought her solitude throughout her life.
Beyond her hobbies, Patricia's true passion lay in spending time with her family. She treasured every moment she shared with them.
Patricia is predeceased by her husband, Matthew in 2012; parents, Stanley and Joyce Wojtalewski; and brother, Michael Wojtalewski.
Patricia leaves behind her daughters, Nicole (Marquan Kirby) Wojtalewski of Syracuse and Jessica (Raymond) Anthony of Syracuse; son, Justin (Priscilla Gomez); grandchildren, Derek, Darius, Alexander, and Austin; siblings, Tammy (John Briggman) Lucio of Marcellus, Christine (James) Kwietniak of Camillus, Ruth (Tim) Cooper of Solvay, Lynn Wojtalewski of Waterloo, and Steven (Ola) Wojtalewski of Camillus; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service to honor Patricia’s life will be held Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
