Patricia Newman Perry

May 30, 1943 — February 23, 2022

Our precious wife and mother, Patricia "Pat" Perry, passed away suddenly with severe pancreatitis on February 23, 2022 at Bethesda East Hospital, Boynton Beach, FL. Pat devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pat grew up in New York and attended Homer High School, then received an associate degree from SUNY Cobleskill in early childhood education. After college, Pat worked alongside Eleanor Avery, her sister-in-law, to run a nursery school in Jamestown, NY before devoting her life as a stay-at-home mother of five daughters. After the older girls went off to college, Pat worked for the Auburn School District as a special education teacher’s aide for 12 years.

Being a mother and wife was her greatest pride and life’s work. Pat was a woman of deep faith and lived her life to the fullest. She displayed love to all those around her, inclusive of all, spreading joy, encouragement, and always lending a listening ear. Pat was active in her community at Briny Breezes, FL and was a member of Christ Fellowship Church, Boynton Beach, FL. She enjoyed experiencing the majesty of the ocean, discovering the daily changes and gifts brought to the beach every day. She had a curiosity and appreciation of all the things life offered wherever she was.

Pat was preceded by her parents, Paul and Ella Newman; and sister, Tamera L. Ostrander.

Surviving are her husband, Grant L. Perry; daughters; Janet (Don) Maxon, Diane (Jim) Stellmack Rabb, Kate (Tim) Hodges, Kristine (Rick) Jackson Raus, Susan (Matt) Mayernick; grandchildren, Kendra, Collin, Camrie, Chloe, Kimberlynn, Abbie, Erin, Sam, Josh, Hannah, Christopher, Tyler, Meagan, Courtney, Lauren, Ricky, Andrea, Hunter, Tommy, Nathan, Patrick, and Julia; great-grandchildren, Quinn, and baby Dorsey; brother, Stan (Norma) Newman; sister-in-law, Eleanor Perry Avery; brothers-in-law, Allen (Robyn) Perry, Robert (Elaine) Perry, Wayne (Lynn) Perry, David (Cheryl) Perry, Steve (Teri) Perry, and Jim (Heather) Ostrander; and several nieces, nephews, and beloved friends of 78 years.

Above all, Pat embodied a distinctive and winsome spirit that radiated a welcoming sparkle; from a casual “first” hello to…lifelong imprints on those she met and loved…to be carried forward, forever.
