Camillus

Patrick W. Strempel, 82, of Camillus, passed away Sunday in New Hartford. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he owned Strempel's Locksmith for over 20 years. Patrick was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of the Syracuse Model Railroad Club. A CB radio enthusiast, he also enjoyed kayaking, snowmobiling and bike riding. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Patrick was predeceased by his wife, Cecilia, in 2019; sons, Michael, in 2009, and Kenneth, in 2020; and brother, Carlton, in 2020.

Surviving are his daughters, Patricia Strempel of Tucson, AZ, and Julie Strempel of Springfield, VA; grandchildren, Brian Strempel, Ruben Purdy, Liam Frank and Lilli Purdy; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Friday, August 11 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will follow at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus. 

Patrick will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY 13208.
