Peter H. Duncan

Peter H. Duncan, 90, of Camillus, passed away on November 1, 2026, at St. Camillus, leaving behind a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Peter was a lifelong resident of the Syracuse area and graduated in 1952 from Onondaga Valley Academy. He went on to enjoy a 35-year career with the New York Telephone Company, retiring in 1990. Peter also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves.

A man of faith and a true gentleman, Peter was a devoted communicant of St. Joseph's Church. He found great joy in traveling and exploring the great outdoors alongside his beloved wife, Patricia. He treasured his children and extended family, holding them close to his heart.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, James and Eileen; brother, James Duncan; sister, Ann Collins; and stepdaughter, Janice Gates.

Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Patricia; son, Francis (Karen Shine) Duncan; daughters, Mary (John) Sarrouh, Pauline (Roland) Miller, and Amy Melinn; stepdaughters, Laura (Laurence Polikoff) Gates and Nancy Gates; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Virginia Ives.

To celebrate Peter’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

Peter will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
