Peter Turner Ross

June 28, 1946 — March 25, 2020

Peter Turner Ross, 73, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Summit, NJ on June 28, 1946 and lived in the New Jersey area until he moved to Skaneateles in 1973.

Peter was a graduate of Morristown Preparatory in Morristown, NJ and Curry College in Milton, MA. Peter excelled in high school football, hockey and track, and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in Morristown Prep in 2003. He was a printing and packaging specialist during his entire working life after college. His career began at Anken Industries in New Jersey. He eventually became the co-owner and VP of sales and marketing for Northern Graphics Printing in Baldwinsville for 20 years. He subsequently sold packaging for Tim-Barr of Hanover, PA, Cenveo of Toledo and Innomark of Dayton, OH. Peter's expertise in printing generated a wealth of knowledge and respect for over 30 years. He served as the president of the Institute of Packaging Professionals of Western New York for two years and was a professional member for 15 years.

Peter coached for the Camillus Youth Hockey League for over 10 years. He was a convert to Catholicism in 1982 and an active parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus. Throughout his adult life, Peter was a member of the Skaneateles Country Club, the Somerset Hill Country Club of Bernardsville, NJ and the Hunt Club of Peapack, NJ.

Peter was predeceased by his parents, John Weber Ross and Louise Ross Timpson.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Susan Delmonico Ross; stepdaughters, Lesley (Jon) Dolan Florada of Syracuse and Meredith (Ray) Dolan Jacobs of Wantagh, Long Island; grandchildren, Joseph Florada, Kathryn Florada, Sara Jacobs and Abby Jacobs; sister, Jonnie Meehan of Boca Raton, FL; nephew, Brendan Meehan of Bedminster, NJ; many cousins; and extended family members from the Delmonico, De Joseph, Pietrafesa, Winters and Dolan families.

Peter was cherished by all who knew him. He will be sorely missed and remembered as an inspiration of kindness and generosity.

Calling hours and services were private. Peter was laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Skaneateles. A memorial Mass to celebrate Peter's life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
