Richard "Punkiey" R. Griffo

Richard “Punkiey” R. Griffo, 41, of Syracuse, passed away on Tuesday. A lifelong resident of the Camillus area, Rich was a graduate of West Genesee High School and attended OCC.

Rich was a barber at Kasson Road Barber Shop, a job he loved and appreciated for its old school atmosphere. He was a member of the Elbridge Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed golfing, bike riding, and cooking. Above all else, Rich loved spending time with his wife, kids, and family.

Rich was predeceased by his father, Richard Griffo, in 2024; and his brother, Samuel “Sam” Griffo, in 2019.

Surviving are his loving wife, Gina; mother, Sherry of Camillus; brothers, Scott (Pam) of Baldwinsville and Alan (Margaret) of Camillus; sisters, Cara Griffo of Camillus and Alicia Griffo of Syracuse; stepson, Ethan; son, Casper; daughter, Tessa Rose; father and mother-in-law, Dolores and Peter Petrone of Camillus; several in-laws, nieces and nephews; and canine companions, Lily and Luna.

To celebrate Richard’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Rich will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
