Robert J. Kane

Syracuse

Robert J. Kane, 82, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of Nottingham High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College. His entire career was in the insurance business. He enjoyed vintage cars and was fond of caring for his 1956 Buick Roadmaster. He also was meticulous with his lawn care, devoted to his faith and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, the former Diane Young; and brother Richard (Sandra) Kane.

Surviving are his son, Mark (Jennifer) of Baldwinsville; daughter, Suzanne (Michael) Wheeler of Clay; grandchildren, Lauren (Yareen) Salomon, Alexandra Oates, Jordan Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler and Mikaela Wheeler; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; as well as his beloved cat, Bella.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, July 2 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Assumption Church, 812 N. Salina St., Syracuse, NY 13208. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

Bob will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
