Robert T. Ryan, Sr.

Robert T. Ryan, Sr., 94, of Camillus, passed away on Thursday. A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, he was a 1951 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy. Robert dedicated more than 37 years to General Electric Co., where he enjoyed a successful career in the finance department. A devoted communicant of Holy Family Church, he found great joy in golfing, cherishing the friendships he made and the countless memories created on the course. Robert also loved to travel and explore new places. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family.

Robert was predeceased by his wife, Irene; son, Robert T. Jr.; infant daughter, Mary Irene; parents, John and Mildreth; brother; John Joseph, Jr.; sister; Mary Elizabeth “Peach” Ryan; and companion; Anna McCann.

Surviving are his daughter, Catherine (Michael) Knapp; grandchildren, Heather and Christopher Knapp; brother, William; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To celebrate Robert’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

A funeral Mass will immediately follow.

Robert will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt.
