Roland K.H. Bott, 86, of Marcellus passed away Friday, June 18, 2010 at home. Born in Mannheim, Germany on Sunday, October 14, 1923, he was the son of Martin and Johanna Bott. He lived in Marcellus since 1952. Roland was employed by the New York Central Railroad for more than 30 years. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was an avid bingo player and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially vacationing in Disney. Roland was predeceased on February 23, 2003 by his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Larrabee Bott. Surviving are his daughter, Penny (Donald) Poorman of Marcellus; three grandchildren, Daniel Poorman, Christopher (Angela) King and David (Daria) Hodge; three daughters, Beverly Symonds, Linda Whipple and Deborah Carlson; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, June 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. There will be no services. Burial will be private.
