Ronald “Ron” F. Groth, 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, surrounded by the love of his family.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Ronald honorably served his country. He was a graduate of Vocational High School and enjoyed a long career with Niagara Mohawk before retiring in 1989. He could often be found on the golf course or at the bowling alley, two pastimes he thoroughly enjoyed. Ron was also a devoted sports fan who faithfully cheered for the New York Yankees and New York Giants.

Above all, Ron was a loving family man. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His love for his family and the many memories they created together will remain his greatest legacy.

Ron will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Helena; brothers, Robert, Frank, Howard, Donald, and Norbert; and sisters, Ealnor Wood, Delores Pventy, and Lenora Murphy.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy; children, Cindy (Bob) Dixon, Mark, Bruce (Cindy), Gail (Chris) Cox, Todd (Robin), Gary, and Janet (Mike) Drazek; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be private.

Ron will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
