Ruth Ann Lawton

Syracuse

Ruth Ann Lawton, 72, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at Crouse Hospital. She was a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area and attended Corcoran High School. Ruth was employed by West Genesee School District for over five years with the food services and transportation departments. She then worked for over 20 years at Upstate Community Hospital in environmental services before retiring in 2013. Ruth was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Syracuse Ward. Ruth truly enjoyed dancing, roller skating at Skate-N-Place, knitting, crocheting, animals, and children. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are her daughter, Tammy (Matthew) Honeywell of Syracuse; grandchildren, Courtney and Dylan Honeywell; two sisters; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday, August 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruth will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Friends Forever Animal Rescue, 174 Gristwood Rd., Pennellville, NY 13132.
