Shirley McGuire, 90, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026.
Born in Syracuse, Shirley was a proud graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy. She later moved to Camillus with her husband, Thomas, where they raised their family and built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Shirley dedicated 35 years of her career to Community General Hospital, where she worked as an EKG technician and was known for her caring nature and compassion toward others. Following her retirement, she enjoyed working at the Cashel House.
Shirley was a devoted communicant of St. Joseph’s Church and a member and past president of the Altar & Rosary Society, where her faith and fellowship were important parts of her life. Her guardian angel was always at her side to light and guard, to rule and guide. She was also a longtime member of the Camillus Elks Ladies Auxiliary and proudly served as its past president.
Shirley will be remembered for her kind heart, warm personality, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community. She touched many lives throughout her years and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Thomas; daughter, Kelly; parents, Alexander and Anna Niedzwicki; siblings, Theodore, Richard, and William Niedzwicki and Delores Warzecha.
Surviving are her sons, Thomas (Freda) of Elbridge and Andrew (Amy) of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Niedzwicki, Carol Wisnowski, and Arlene Hayes; brother, Edward Niedzwicki; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Shirley’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral Mass will follow at the church.
Private burial will be held in Maplewood Cemetery, Camillus.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, 5600 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
