Susan Catherine (Munz) Gardner

Susan Catherine (Munz) Gardner, 84, of Camillus, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday.

A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, Susan graduated from Nottingham High School. She worked for several companies throughout the years, primarily in clerical positions, often within the insurance industry.

A communicant of Holy Family Church, Susan had a deep passion for many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, cross-stitching, ceramics, and other hand-crafted arts. She lovingly made clothes for her children as they grew and took great joy in creating special gifts for family members.

Susan and her husband, Jack, enjoyed hosting bridge and dinner nights at their home with close friends. Above all, Susan cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, James and Frances Munz.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, John “Jack”; son, Jeffrey (Laurie); daughter, Tamara (Dan Abold) Grashof; grandchildren, Samantha, Alyssa, Mechelle, and Emilea; great-granddaughter, Jaelyn; sister, Mary Anne Corasaniti; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Susan’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

Susan will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
