Susan (Gregory) Pensabene

Susan (Gregory) Pensabene, 75, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, she dedicated her life to her family, her students, and her community.

Born in Syracuse, Susan was a proud graduate of Bishop Ludden High School. She continued her education at OCC before earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from SUNY Cortland. Her passion for education led her to a rewarding career as a second-grade teacher at Walberta Park Elementary School in the Westhill Central School District, where she touched the lives of countless students and families throughout the years.

Susan was a devoted communicant of Holy Family Church and an active member of the New York State Teachers Union. In addition to her work in education, she worked alongside her beloved husband for many years at the family's restaurant, Pensabene's Park West, where she enjoyed serving the community and creating lasting friendships.

Above all, Susan cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their activities, celebrating milestones, and creating treasured memories that will live on for generations. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Susan leaves behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and love. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend whose impact on the lives of others will never be forgotten.

Susan was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Barbara Gregory.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Terry; daughter, Melissa (Jeffrey) Pross of Syracuse; sons, Dylan (Melissa) of Syracuse and Joseph (Nicole) of Camillus; grandchildren, Jackson, Jacob, Katelyn, Marin, Megan, Jude, Mikayla, Bryce, and Bennett; brothers, Scott (Maryann) Gregory and Shawn Gregory, both of Camillus; and several nieces and nephews.

To celebrate Susan’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse.

Susan will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
