Susanne Marie Chamberlain

Susanne Marie Chamberlain, 78, of Camillus, passed away peacefully on Friday at Crouse Hospital.

Born and raised in Oswego, Susanne moved to the Syracuse area in 1968. Professionally, she was a proud registered nurse and certified infection control practitioner throughout her adult life.

Privately, Susanne supported her family and friends with all her heart. She loved college basketball and cheering for her grandkids in all of their activities.

Susanne was predeceased by her first husband, Richard Chamberlain; parents; sister, Joanne Amedio; and brothers, Joseph and Paul Zaryski.

Surviving are her husband, Michael Canavan; daughter, Alison (Jon) Brackett; son, Craig (Ali) Chamberlain; twin sister, Sally Cafalone; brothers, Francis and David Zaryski; sister, Diane Monnet; grandchildren, Sydney, J.B., Rachel, Dane, and Wes; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

To celebrate Susanne’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
