Thomas Charles Luhr, 90, of Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday.
A lifelong resident of the Syracuse area, Tom enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, or camping. He was also an avid chess player who appreciated the challenge and strategy of the game. Tom was a Cub Scout Master, where his lifelong appreciation for nature and the outdoors began.
Above all, Tom treasured his family. Nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount, where he generously volunteered his time as an usher.
Tom is predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Theresa; brother, Herbert; sister, Terry; and children, Anne, John, Bobby, and Chrishell.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Debra; sons, Paul (Nicole), Patrick (Julie), Mark (Beth), Tom (Cindy), and Andy (Mary); daughter-in-law, Toni Edwards; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Tom’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Tom will be laid to rest in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Syracuse.
