Tony Joseph Valerino

Tony Valerino, 88, of Solvay, passed away Thursday at Upstate Community Hospital. Born and raised in Solvay, he was a graduate of Solvay High School and a lifetime resident of the Syracuse area. A U.S. Army veteran, Tony was employed with the City of Syracuse for over 20 years.

Tony was predeceased by his wife, Marcia in 2018; son, Eugene; parents, Anthony and Angelina; and sisters, Fannie and Margaret Salvetti.

Surviving are his daughter, Tina Drake of Holly Springs, NC; son, Steven (Heather) of Onondaga Hill; grandchildren, Nikki (Philip) Bass, Jessi, Brian, and Danny (Ali) Drake and Sophia, Morgan, and Carly Valerino; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Chase; and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at Ascension Mausoleum in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners on Wednesday, June 21 at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Solvay-Geddes Community Youth Center, 1010 Woods Rd., Solvay, NY 13209.
