Trajan Sekovski, 94, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Born and raised in Macedonia, Trajan immigrated to the Syracuse area in 1970. He was a devoted member of St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church and faithfully served as an assistant there for 17 years. In recognition of his dedication and service, he was promoted to subdeacon in 1995.
Trajan was known for his love of gardening and could often be found enjoying his favorite crops from his own garden, garlic and jalapeños. He had a deep appreciation for Macedonian music, and one of his greatest accomplishments was founding the dance group Kitka, helping preserve and celebrate Macedonian traditions for future generations.
Above all, Trajan cherished time spent with his family. He especially treasured moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Trajan was predeceased by his wife, Menka; son, Vasko; parents, Pando and Cveta; sister, Danica Nechovski; brother, Risto; and son-in-law, Riste Razmovski.
Surviving are his daughter, Violeta Razmovski of Baldwinsville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Nikola; daughter-in-law, Cveta Sekovska; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
To celebrate Trajan’s life, relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. George Macedonian Orthodox Church, 5083 Onondaga Rd., Syracuse. A Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 6 p.m.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the church.
Trajan will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
