Vasiliki "Vicki" Gatzopulow

Vasiliki “Vicki” Gatzopulos, 79, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Tuesday at St. Camillus Health and Rehabilitation, with her sisters-in-law by her side.

Born and raised in Proti, Florina, Greece, Vicki immigrated to the United States in 1966. She made Syracuse her home and was employed by Upstate University Hospital for 10 years.

Vicki was a devoted member of St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church and was active in the church’s Philoptochos Society. Her faith, Greek heritage and family were important parts of her life.

Vicki enjoyed baking and gardening. She found great joy in sharing her talents with those around her and, above all, cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Vicki was predeceased by her parents, Christos and Christina Meskos; brothers, Angelo and John Meskos; sister, Magdalini Liakos; and nephews, George and Chris J. Meskos.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Paul; son, Philip; sisters-in-law, Patty Meskos and Frieda Meskos; aunt, Paraskevi Fekos; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins in America, Canada, Greece and Australia.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd., Syracuse.

A funeral service will follow in the church.

Vicki will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse.
