William Nies

William Nies, 69, of Syracuse, passed away Monday at Upstate University Hospital.

A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, William was a graduate of West Genesee High School. He built a strong work ethic that carried through his many years of employment. He worked at the 4 Seasons Car Wash for approximately 14 years, where he was known for his dedication and reliability. More recently, he spent over seven years working at Walmart, continuing to serve his community with commitment and pride.

William was a former avid bowler and took great enjoyment in the sport, cherishing both the competition and camaraderie it brought. He was also a fan of auto racing, enjoying the thrill of the track.

William was predeceased by his parents, Mervin and Anna Nies.

Surviving are his sister, Elizabeth Nies of Durham, NC; uncles, Joseph and Francis Fantauzzi; and several cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse, in the spring.

Burial will be private.
