COVID-19 INFORMATION

Important Message Regarding COVID-19

The continued progression of COVID-19 is drastically changing our community’s awareness and reaction to this pandemic. On March 14, 2020, Onondaga County Declared a State of Emergency and closed schools county wide.

Effective at 8PM on Sunday, March 22, all non-essential businesses statewide will be closed (Funeral Home Services are Considered Essential and we remain open to serve our community)

Buranich Funeral Home, Inc. is dedicated to serving families in our care, protecting our staff and their families and doing our part to protect the community at-large.

Our staff continues to follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting our facilities. We have implemented additional recommendations from the National Funeral Directors Association and the New York State Funeral Directors Association to protect our community’s health and mitigate spread of this virus.

We understand the fluctuating flow of information regarding gatherings, social distancing, voluntary business closings, etc… creates confusion, anxiety and very real challenges to all of us. Buranich Funeral Home, Inc. is here to assist families in Honoring, Remembering and Celebrating their loved one while following the constraints placed upon our community as we fight to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Respectful of the County Department of Health, the State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control recommendations AND our commitment to supporting best practices during this unique time in history, we are implementing the following company changes pertaining to services we feel are safe for the families we serve and prudent for doing our part as a member of the community.

  • Gatherings at the funeral home for services will be PRIVATE~ IMMEDIATE FAMILY [limiting attendance to under 10 people]
  • Gatherings at places of worship, in our opinion, should be private [limiting attendance to under 10 people]
  • You may celebrate a public memorial service at a future date. The funeral home will assist in arranging public memorial services.
  • “Guests” are encouraged to share a memory or condolence on the family’s online memorial on our website www.BuranichFH.com
  • If visiting to meet with one of our licensed funeral directors OR attending a private gathering for a loved one:
    • Anyone with an existing health concern, pregnant or may be pregnant or a member of the “older” [65+] community should consider sending condolences by phone, e-mail or letter
    • Refrain from hugging, handshakes or other physical contact
    • Maintain a “6 ft” distance between yourself and other guests
    • Soap and water are available in our restroom and remain the most effective manner of disinfecting

We are available by e-mail at sam@buranichfh.com or phone (315) 487-2412 to discuss questions and concerns for any member of our community.

Sincerely,
Buranich Funeral Home, Inc. Staff
